Free Access
Many, many HP Partners use HP iQuote without paying for the service at all:

• Any Authorized HP Distributor can access a free version of HP iQuote called “No-IT”.
• Many Distributors offer Resellers free access to HP iQuote through their Web Stores or through our Universal/Clone Services.

Subscription
The subscription for HP iQuote costs $800 per Month. Within that subscription there are free Banner Advertisements to generate margin for the Host. Given there are free versions why would a HP Distributor or Reseller pay the subscription and become a Host? The 2 main reasons are:

1. To deploy a customer system a Distributor or Reseller must be a Host.
2. To control the stock and price shown in HP iQuote you must be a Host.

HP Partners that operate in multiple countries can apply for Framework pricing and this will reduce the cost per country. Either way the Return on Investment is there.

Introduction to HP iQuote: covers the program objectives, how to generate a quote, benefits and how HP Channel Partners can access and deploy HP iQuote. Next session is 09 Feb 2012 and then it is repeated every 4 weeks.

HP iQuote Master Class: advanced quote functions are shown live (Options Search, Saved Quotes, Merged Quotes, Exports, HP Storage Pre-Configuration) and then a few slides on Reporting, Marketing, Customer Deployment options and Futures. Next session is 23 Feb 2012 and then it is repeated every 4 weeks.

There is a limit on the number of delegates so ensure that you let HP know that you are attending. The sessions are structured so that if you really only want training you can drop off the call after that section. The sessions will last between 35 and 50 minutes depending on the volume of Q&A.

Our response was to reply “we’ve really enjoyed creating and operating iQuote for HP”.

This shows the value that Distributors deliver by providing their Resellers with access to their HP iQuote.

• The highest number of users per week was achieved this week at nearly 600.
• The highest number of new quotes per week was also achieved at over 4,150 as we march towards a monthly total of 20,000.

Both statistics break all previous records. Expected User count and New Quote count for January 2012 is 1300 and 18250.

Also in December 2011 the USA overtook Europe as the No.1 geography for HP iQuote use – impressive but we predict a European surge.

The search function for the HP Storage Section will save you time when building a quote as you don’t need to open up option categories and scroll through the part numbers. The options search will only display parts that are compatible with the system unit you’re quoting.

We wish all of our HP iQuote users and partners a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a profitable 2012. We’ve made countless improvements to HP iQuote this year and there are more to come with the introduction of iQuote 2.0 which will be available in the first half of CY 2012. There will also be new products arriving and major improvements to the way we present HP Networking products.

2011: a growth year
HP iQuote grew from 1200 Quotes per Week to 3600 in 2011 thanks to our users. We added Printers and Storage products to the Servers, Notebooks, Desktops and Workstations. We also added 5 new languages: German, French, Turkish, Italian and Spanish.

Here’s to 2012…

1. If you are a Distributor and maybe have a Special Build SKU that you want in HP iQuote but is not available through other Distributors we can handle that now.
2. If a System Unit ships with a FREE option we can handle that in HP iQuote as we show it in the Basket/Cart but it would be useful to see that option is included when browsing the range so we support that now.
3. The System Unit Spec Table has been extended so if you would like to see items like keyboard and mouse they can be shown if we’ve added them to HP iQuote.

Although minor we think that some of this detail is what makes HP iQuote really powerful.

The screen shot above shows the top level categorisation. Note that Power Supply will move from Chassis to Rack & Power in early December.

This version of iQuote is called HP iQuote Universal. This is how it works:

1. We provide a customer subscribe form and a link with a token which you place on your web site.
2. Reseller completes form and is provided with a welcome email.

We show List Price* or Indicative Price* in this version as well as inventory. You can have unlimited customers/users under this model you just have to be a HP iQuote subscriber (so this is not available under HP iQuote No-IT).

* Hosts that want to provide customers with individual buy price should look at HP iQuote Web Store Integrated.

Case Study: HP ESSN UK “Focus Pack”
The UK ESSN Business Unit produces a PDF document that lists all the programs currently running to help HP Partners boost sales and win deals. That document is now available in HP iQuote within the Resources page. Use the Home Page Banner Advert to link to it:

Or just click on Resources on the top menu. You are then offered various documents (e.g. HP iQuote Training Guides) and the Focus Pack. It can be viewed in a window or full screen and has a very useful Document Search function (so if you are looking for Cash Back deals you find them quickly).

Of course only UK users can view this file and by definition that means that each Country can have localised content.

The plan is to extend this so that the discounts are viewable on screen plus the user is prompted to make the 5 and 10 qualifying option thresholds.
